The Essentials of Fact Finding and Report Writing 

Participants will learn an objective, systemized process for collecting, preserving, organizing and presenting evidence whenever fact-finding must be conducted. From formulation of an investigation plan, through preparation for interviews, collecting and preserving evidence, and summarizing the evidence and findings in a written report, this workshop will assist participants to develop the skills necessary to resolve complaints, human resource issues and other situations where the facts may be in dispute.

Participants will:  

  • Learn essential components of the fact finding process
  • Learn common pitfalls and mistakes in the fact finding process
  • Learn how to organize the fact finding process for maximum effectiveness and efficiency
  • Identify the relevance and means of collecting and preserving different forms of evidence
  • Learn how to best prepare for and conduct a fact finding interview
  • Learn a process for organizing evidence and summarizing findings in a written report
