Ways to Have Critical Family Conversations About Balancing Digital Life, Managing Apps and Staying Positive on Social Media
Wednesday, March 21, 2018
San Ramon Community Center
12501 Alcosta Blvd. • 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Please join us for an engaging evening of learning as Merve Lapus, Director of Professional Services at Common Sense Media, will present practical strategies and tips on social media and device usage. From cyberbullying and photo sharing to digital footprints and online safety, Merve’s session will help parents address important topics and have meaningful conversations with their kids about making great choices in their digital lives. Since SRVUSD uses Common Sense Media as the main resource to teach digital citizenship lessons in all our schools, parents will also get a closer look at the messages and instructions that our kids receive in class.
Merve Lapus has over 15 years of experience working with school districts to build educator capacity through professional development. He sits on a number of steering committees addressing school climate and state policy initiatives. Merve holds a B.A. in psychology and sociology from the University of San Francisco and is often behind a camera snapping pictures of this wife and two daughters dancing around the Bay Area.
Common Sense Media is headquartered in San Francisco, a non-profit organization that provides unbiased information, trusted advice, and innovative tools to help harness the power of media and technology as a positive force in all kids’ lives.
