STEM Activities

PLC Description: Water play and building things are everyday activities in the early childhood setting. This PLC will explore how we implement and foster the skills that children are attaining while just playing with water or using blocks and other building materials. Participants will share their experiences with water play and building including outside play, social emotional aspects, and how it ties into the rest of their curriculum.

PLC Objectives: Participants will:

  • Share their experiences with children in the areas of water play and building structures.
  • Discuss how this happens outside.
  • Describe what social emotional opportunities happen during this play.
  • Discuss how early literacy plays a part.
Describe how water play and building translate to other parts of the curriculum.
