Speaker: Dr. Brian Smith, Superintendent of HSE Schools

Dr. Brian F. Smith has served as superintendent of the Southwest Allen County school district since 1998. He was also superintendent of the Centerville-Abington Community and Edinburgh Community schools. Prior to that, he was principal at Edinburgh High School and also taught at Marion High School.

Dr. Smith was recently named Northwest Indiana's Superintendent of the Year by the Indiana Association of Public School Superintendents and in 2001, he was named the National Association of Gifted Children's National Superintendent of the year. 

Dr. Smith earned his Educational Specialist and Master of Arts degrees from Ball State and a doctorate in education from Indiana University.
