First Breath and My Baby & Me Training

Friday's First Breath training session is intended for individuals who have not attended an initial training in the past.

The My Baby & Me training has been updated extensively. All providers wishing to provide My Baby & Me MUST attend the updated training. If you cannot attend Friday's training, please contact for program coordinator.

Smoking and Alcohol Interventions for Women with Mental Health and Substance Abuse Disorders

The Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation is pleased to present this year's annual Statewide Meeting: Helping Those Who Need It Most: Smoking and Alcohol Interventions for Women with Mental Health and Substance Abuse Disorders.

We welcome a group of expert presenters to this year's meeting, including Dr. Jill Williams, our keynote speaker.  Dr. Williams is a nationally recognized leader in addressing tobacco in individuals with mental illness.  She is a Professor of Psychiatry and Director of the Division of Addiction Psychiatry at the Rutgers University - Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Brunswick and is affiliated with the Rutgers Center for Alcohol Studies.  Dr. Williams' work has appeared in several publications, including Nicotine and Tobacco Research, the Journal of the American Medical Association, and the Journal of Substance Abuse Treatment.

These learning objectives will be met during the Statewide Meeting:

  • a review of current literature, research and promising practices
  • special considerations for the high risk perinatal population
  • how to tailor smoking and alcohol interventions for the high risk perinatal population
  • the resources available
