Come and join our first 2014 meeting of the North Bay SCBWI program series at the Sebastopol Center for the Arts.
Successful children’s author Marsha Diane Arnold will present Writing Wonderful Character-Driven Picture Books. Editors are looking for great character-driven picture books so come learn how characters drive stories, how to give your character a distinctive voice, and how to find your very own unique great characters.
Marsha Diane Arnold is an award-winning picture book author with 11 traditional books, two digital apps, and an e-book to her credit. Represented by Red Fox Literary, in 2013 she sold four picture book manuscripts to top New York, Boston, and London publishers. Called a “born storyteller” by the media and known for books with strong characters, Marsha is the creator of the popular Writing Wonderful Character-Driven Picture Books e-course at the Children’s Book Academy. She also writes a monthly blog for the academy focusing on character development.
Marsha travels nationally and internationally as a speaker and writing workshop leader for schools and conferences. She has taught aspiring authors for 14 years, both privately, with the Institute of Children’s Literature, with the Oregon Coast Children’s Book Writers Workshop, and online with Mediabistro.com. In 2008 Marsha was honored to be the only children’s author ever invited by the Sequoia Parks Foundation to participate in their “Artists in the Back Country” program.
Her current hot interactive storybook app is PRANCING DANCING LILY. Check out the book trailer HERE.
Previous books include the soulful Ridgway award winner, HEART OF A TIGER, the Smithsonian Notable PUMPKIN RUNNER, based on a real event, and the uproarious ROAR OF A SNORE.
As a gift to those attending her March 6th North Bay SCBWI talk, Marsha Diane is offering her e-course at half price.
