Indianapolis Chapter CSI April Meeting:

The ADA Quiz

Please Note: This month's meeting will be held at the Willows on Westfield (formerly Riverwalk Banquet Center). Please take a moment to register for this meeting, if you plan on attending.

So you think you know the ADA? Even if you don't, please join the Indianapolis Chapter of CSI and test your knowledge of subjects related to accessiblilty and the Americans with Disabilities Act. The ADA has been around for over 20 years yet there is still much confusion and misinformation in the industry on exactly what the requirements are, when those requirements apply and even which document or standard should be referenced to find the answer. With the primary enforcement of ADA being legal action brought by those who feel they have been discriminated against, facility owners and managers, architects, designers and construction professionals could all learn more about the details of the ADA and how to avoid its risks.

Learning Objectives:

  • Develop a better understanding of the 2010 ADA Standards  for Accessible Design
  • Learn the differences between the various accessibility codes and standards and how to determine which applies to your project.
  • Study some of the common ADA mistakes made in the design and construction of buildings.
  • Hear real world answers to accessibility questions on current projects.
