Faith and Film
The Gifts of the Sacraments

Led by:  Sr. Joyce Cox, B.V.M.

Join Sr. Joyce as she explores three films, each related to a specific sacrament in the Church.  Discover how each film holds a message for our own lives, and those in our faith community.  This is a traditional group retreat with large group conferences offering discussion and formation in faith.  Time is provided for individual and communal prayer, spiritual reading, and reflection.  Opportunities are also available for celebration of the Eucharist and Reconciliation.

"Amish Grace" focuses on the tragic and true story of young schoolchildren in rural Pennsylvania.  It is a powerful lead into the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

"Of Gods and Men" tells the true story of Cistercian Monks living amongst a Muslim community in Algeria.  This film plays into the theme of the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

"Tuesdays with Morrie" centers around the relationship between a young journalist and an elderly man, dying from ALS.  This film provides an opportunity to learn about the Sacrament of the Sick.
