Silent Advent Retreat
"Joy in the Holy Spirit"

Led by:  Fr. Jim Northrop

"For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of food and drink but of righteousness and joy in the Holy Spirit." (Romans 14:17)

God created us with a desire for happiness.  Yet so many people lack joy and are overwhelmed by the trials and circumstances of their lives.  During this retreat we will have the opportunity to obtain a greater sense of joy as we continue in our service to the Lord.

This retreat is a traditional, silent retreat preparing you for your own personal, internal celebration of the joy of Christmas. Time will be provided for  individual and communal prayer, spiritual reading, reflection, and devotions. Opportunities will also be available for the celebration of the Eucharist and Reconciliation.

About Fr. Northrop:

Fr Jim Northrop

Fr. Jim Northrop was ordained to the priesthood by the late Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy on June 7, 1997. Fr. Jim has conducted numerous retreats throughout the Archdiocese and has traveled to Alaska and California to help with youth conferences. He is a teacher for the Archdiocesan Catechist Certification Program. He especially enjoys speaking about the Grace of Pentecost and the importance of rediscovering the role of the Holy Spirit within the Church and in our individual lives.
