New Mexico Million Hearts Workshop 

   

New Mexico's newest efforts to prevent heart attacks and strokes will be launched with a New Mexico Million Hearts® Workshop on June 13. Million Hearts® was begun by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The New Mexico Million Hearts® Workshop will introduce the initiative and explore aligning the efforts of local stakeholders. National and local speakers will present on improving hypertension in the clinical setting through the use of electronic health record (EHR) systems by the health care team.

Participants will include physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, community health workers and representatives, promotoras and administrative staff. Host organizations include the National Association for Chronic Disease Directors, the New Mexico Department of Health and HealthInsight New Mexico. There is no charge to attend this event, and lunch is included. Continuing medical education credit will be offered for participating professionals.

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and polices of the New Mexico Medical Society (NMMS) through the joint sponsorship of HealthInsight New Mexico and the New Mexico Department of Health. HealthInsight New Mexico is accredited by NMMS to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

The HealthInsight New Mexico designates this live course for a maximum of 6.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) tm. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
