Webinar: 12 Key Components for Successful School-to-Work Transition

Lessons Learned & Evolving Practices from the King County School-to-Work Program

For nearly every transition student, successfully achieving employment involves good planning, early preparation, and the intentional collaboration of many stakeholders: from students and families through school and adult service system staff. A great deal of both broad and specific knowledge and skill is needed at the right time and from the right stakeholder to strategically position the student for success. Having now served over 1000 students with intellectual and developmental disabilities since 2006, the King County School-to-Work Program is a unique countywide cross-system partnership that has continued to produce leading rates of employment for participating students. Gleaned from lessons learned and evolving practices, this webinar boils down transferable practices into 12 key components, broad and specific, that will be useful to apply to your local area, organization, or individual situation.

The information in this webinar is for Families, Teachers and School District Administrators, Employment Service Professionals, Adult Service System Staff and Managers who serve students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
