Medieval and Renaissance Music Evening or What the Heck is a Crumhorn?

Please join us for a unique musical event.

Columbus musicians Ron and Janice Cook will present selections of medieval and Renaissance music using authentic instruments like the crumhorn, rebec, and hurdy-gurdy.

The audience will be introduced to a variety of music from the 12th through 16th centuries.  Among the selections will be songs and a story from the Middle Ages, and, from the Renaissance, examples of the French chanson, the English canzonet, the Spanish recercada, and the English country dance.

Ron and Janice Cook own some of Columbus' finest cultural treasures, a thoughtfully acquired and carefully maintained collection of medieval and Renaissance instruments which they and their friends have been playing in a musical ensemble called The Early Interval since 1976.  Ron and Janice have performed all over Ohio, and we are pleased to bring this special performance to Marietta.

A free family event.
