Electronic Notice & Voting

Both the Illinois Condominium Property Act and the Common Interest Community Association Act have new provisions for the use of technology which became effective January 1, 2015. At their core, both set a framework for associations to officially send and receive electronic communications with their members.  These changes in legislation allow meeting notices to be sent by electronic means and allow owners to vote on association matters by electronic means.  Moreover, the legislation is forward looking, allowing associations to adapt over time.  Learn what actions must be taken in order for your association to adopt electronic communications for these purposes.
