The Delaware Humanities Forum will hold the 2015 Joseph P. del Tufo Annual Lecture with Dr. Andrew Sandoval-Strausz at 6:30p.m. on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Arsht Hall, 2700 Pennsylvania Avenue in Wilmington, Delaware. Dr. Sandoval-Strausz will deliver his lecture "Latino Immigrants and the Transformation of American Cities, 1950-2010."
Dr. Sandoval-Strausz is an Associate Professor of United States History and the Associate Chair of the Department of History at the University of New Mexico. This year, he is a Distinguished Fellow at Princeton-Mellon Initiative in Architecture, Urbanism, and the Humanities.
His first book, Hotel: An American History (Yale University Press, 2007), won the American Historical Association-Pacific Coast Branch Book Award and was named a Best Book of 2007 by Library Journal. He was one of the 36 recepients chosen by the National Endowment for the Humanities' new 'Public Scholar' program, an initiative designed to promote the publication of scholarly nonfiction books for the general audience.
