Become a Licensed Roofer

The state has failed to pass any licensing requirements for roofing contractors, so NTRCA has partnered with RCAT to support the RCAT licensing program and offer our members an easy way to qualify and gain this “license”. 

Just as NTRCA recognizes its accredited members, we will now recognize those members who hold a license with RCAT.

 To encourage you to get licensed, NTRCA members are able to take the test for the RCAT member rate and non-members of RCAT will receive a one year RCAT membership.  We know our members like things simple – so we have created classes to help you streamline the process and get prepared for the test.

JANUARY 13 – TESTING SIGN UP, NTRCA LUNCH & LEARN AND BUSISNESS AND SAFETY CLASS

11:30 am – 3:00 pm @International Bowling Museum

• Bring your paperwork to our January Lunch and Learn and get it reviewed and notarized Get your NRCA Roofing Manuals and other study guides
• Enjoy the NTRCA Lunch and Learn on Secession Planning and earn CEU Credits for your License (license holders need 8 hours per year, and NTRCA Lunch and Learns count!)
• After the Lunch and Learn, join Dan Pitts for the Business and Safety Section of the Test – learn about this section; put sticky notes in your test guides; pretend you are back in school (but don’t pass notes); this class counts toward your CEU credits too!

FEBRUARY 10 – COMMERCIAL CLASS

1:00 – 3:00 pm @International Bowling Museum

• Bring your study guides and sticky notes and join Eric Walund, from Boyd Roofing and an RCAT Board Member as he covers test information on commercial roofing (also counts toward your CEU credits). 

FEBRUARY 24 – RESIDENTIAL CLASS

1:00 – 3:00 pm @ International Bowling Museum

• Paul Ramon of Ramon Roofing and an RCAT Past President will go over the key areas of the study materials for the residential section of the test. Bring your study guides (you guessed it – this class counts toward your first year’s CEO credits too).

FEBRUARY 27 -- LICENSE TEST

9:00 am – 1:00 pm, @International Bowling Museum

• Celebrate your success when you find the RCAT license logo next to your company listing on the NTRCA website. We will give you lots of PR and recognition for this as well!

You do not need to attend these study sessions to take the test on the 27^th but we have had a number of requests to set something up to help prepare for the test as many of you haven’t had to take one since you left school!
