What is an Arts Resource Fair? An event that provides regional artists and state wide arts organizations the opportunity to meet and get to know each other. The Arts Resource Fair is a time to connect, communicate and create community. You will have the opportunity to meet and talk with grant makers, exhibition/performance venues, and a variety of organizations that want to help you become a better artist, singer, dancer, writer or performer. There will be panel discussions, workshops and lots of networking.
New this year! Friday night, June 24, starting at 5:30 pm and ending at 10 pm. "Downtown Music & Arts Stroll". This is your chance to listen to live music, see the Fergus Falls arts' scene and eat great food. It will be a chance to relax and visit with everyone. Scheduled stops will be the Kaddatz Gallery, Springboard for the Arts new space, A Center for the Arts, LRAC Gallery and live music at The Spot.
Sat. June 25, Arts Resource Fair, starting at 10 am until 4 pm. Location is MState, Legacy Hall, 1414 College Way, Fergus Falls, MN.
Registration for everyone is FREE, a value of $75! We do need you to register so we can be sure to have enough materials and food for everyone.
Lunch provided free to artists residing in LRAC service area of Becker, Clay, Douglas, Grant, Otter Tail, Pope, Stevens, Traverse and Wilkin Counties. Lunch for all other artists will be $15. There are also several restaurants and fast food locations nearby.
This year’s list of resources include the MN State Arts Board, the McKnight Foundation, the Jerome Foundation, the Northern Clay Center, MN Music Coalition, The Loft Literary Center, Springboard for the Arts, and MN Citizens for the Arts to name a just a few.
New workshops this year: "Copyrights, Trademarks and Contracts", "How to Build a Website for Artists, "Publish, Promote and Market your Manuscript" and a Panel of Gallery Curators talking about what it takes to have a gallery accept your work.
Tip: Bring a list of your artistic accomplishments (artist resume) and photos or jpegs of your work or video if you are a performer so that you can show the arts organizations your work.
