CalAPA L.A.-High Desert Technical Committee Meeting Fontana 

CalAPA members and public agency personnel are invited to the CalAPA joint Los Angeles & High Desert area Technical Committee meeting, where technical information and best practices about Hot Mix Asphalt will be discussed in an informal setting.

The meeting's featured presentation is titled, "Pavement Evaluation Technologies and Rehabilitation  Strategies." The featured presenters will be Amir Ghavibazoo (pictured top right) , Ph.D., Senior Pavement Engineer, Twining, Inc., and Alvaro Ulloa-Calderon (pictured bottom right) , Ph.D, P.E., Project Engineer, Dynatest.

Depending on the existing condition of pavement, there are different technologies, such as FWD, DCP, and GPR that can evaluate the existing structural capacity of pavement. Also, there are multiple rehabilitation strategies that can be offered based on the evaluation results. In this presentation, each pavement evaluation technology and rehabilitation strategy will be introduced and the right project to propose each of them will be discussed.

The meeting will also feature reports from local and state agencies about pavement projects and issues, and an update from CalAPA Deputy Executive Director Tony Grasso on local and statewide issues the  association is following on behalf of the industry. As always, there will be ample time for questions and answers.
