Target audience:
Clinical research coordinators and research assistants
Provide participants with background knowledge on SpA and data collection in SpA clinical trials. Discuss approaches to commonly encountered problems in clinical trials.
Agenda:
The program will include didactic and practical sessions on
- Overview of SpA and current research questions
- Axial SpA questionnaires and metrology
- Problems and pitfalls in running clinical trials in SpA
Investigator Workshop
"Clinical Assessment in Spondyloarthritis"

SPARTAN members and Rheumatology fellows attending the annual meeting
Objective:
Review and practice the use of clinical assessment tools in axial SpA trials. The major focus of this workshop will be on metrology.
Agenda:
- Review of SpA questionnaires and other instruments
- Small group clinical skills training sessions (BASMI etc.)

Annual Reception at the Denver Art Museum
We'll gather Saturday evening, July 23 at the beautiful Denver Art Museum for our annual reception and certificate presentation. It's just a short walk from our hotel and we'll have the chance to visit the museum's special galleries and enjoy hearty appetizers and beverages. We are fortunate to have docent-guided tours of the museum's renowned Women of Abstract Impressionism exhibit to begin our event. We'll meet at the Hamilton Building Welcome Center.

Member Reimbursement
SPARTAN will reimburse ALL members in good standing, $195 plus tax for up to three nights lodging July 21 - July 24. In addition....
SPARTAN FULL MEMBERS
SPARTAN will reimburse up to $500 for domestic coach-class tickets and $800 for International flights (Canada and Mexico)
SPARTAN ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
SPARTAN will reimburse up to $400 for domestic coach-class tickets and $700 for International flights (Canada and Mexico)
TRAINEES
SPARTAN will reimburse up to $500 for domestic coach-class tickets and up to $100 for ground transportation and parking expenses
SPARTAN will reimburse members for airfare and hotel as detailed above only. All incidentals, meals not provided at the Annual Meeting, ground transportation (except for Fellows), baggage fees are the members’ responsibility. To qualify for the reimbursement, attendance at all sessions of the SPARTAN annual meeting is required. Please remember to 'sign-in' and 'sign-out' on a sheet (available at the entrance of the meeting hall) at the start and the end of the day.
