Forum to develop a prenatal to age 3 plan

You are invited to participate in a forum for early childhood stakeholders in the Twin Cities metro area.

Purpose: To help create racially-equitable policies focused on prenatal-to-age 3 opportunities and well-being. Please share your knowledge, experience, observations, and voice at an early childhood conversation about how to ensure the healthy development of all of our children and the well-being of all families.

Why: A group of leaders from diverse communities, nonprofit agencies, foundations, the University of Minnesota, and state government are working together to create a 2017 legislative agenda that focuses on the well-being of young children and families. Toward that end, Richard Chase (Wilder Foundation) and Betty Emarita (Development and Training, Inc.), along with community partners, are convening community forums around the state to help craft a comprehensive policy plan.

How: From April-June, Betty and Richard are gathering stories and examples of community-led solutions for improving and supporting racial equity, early experiences, positive relationships, and the economic security of young children. These conversations have a special emphasis on solutions by and within communities of color and rural communities.

Hosted by: Richard Chase, Wilder Research; Betty Emarita, Development and Training, Inc.; and Elizabeth Carlson, University of Minnesota, Institute of Child Development.
