The Professional Aboriginal
Women's Network

Please join us for an evening of networking and a powerful panel presentation comprised of a mother-daughter entrepreneur duo from the local Squamish First Nation.  Michelle Nahanee & her daughter Paisley Eva Nahanee (combined bio below), opened The Capilano Tea House and Botanical Soda Company in Gastown, one of Vancouver’s trendiest areas.  Michelle & Paisley Eva will be sharing their journey’s as well as about their exciting new business venture.

“We walk in two worlds, infusing the traditional teachings of our family throughout our contemporary business practices.”  Michelle & Paisley Eva Nahanee

Join us for this unique opportunity to listen, share, and collaborate with Professional Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women in Vancouver.

Combined Bio for Michelle and Paisley Eva Nahanee

The Capilano Tea House and Botanical Soda Company is Indigenous-owned and plant-inspired. Located at 221 Abbott Street in Gastown, the peaceful interior design of the Tea House aims to share both the Indigenous and urban cultural influences of its creative owners Michelle and Paisley Nahanee, from the Squamish Nation.

“Our business is a reflection of the cultural influences of the two places we have lived:  in Vancouver and within our Squamish Nation community. From our Nation, we learned the importance of staying connected to the land and our community; the spirit is within us and we take care of it as much as it takes care of us. Our urban influences inspired us to become part of a network of creative entrepreneurs transforming small-batch artisan production into local economic growth. The Capilano turns our passion for curating healthy sources of natural flavours through herbs, flowers, fruits, roots and food plants into an opportunity to build a business that we love.

More about Professional Aboriginal Women’s Network:

The Professional Aboriginal Women’s Network was created in partnership with the Professional Women’s Network that was founded 18 years ago to support professional women in career and business development (please see www.pwncanada.ca).  There is a growing interest in the development of a network for Indigenous women.  The Professional Women’s Network partnered with Chastity Davis, Kim Van der woerd, and Teara Fraser to host two inaugural events in 2015 with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women to explore the need for a Professional Aboriginal Women's Network.
