You’ve heard the saying that you Private (or Sport) Pilot Certificate is your license to learn. We spend time and energy earning the certificate, and the day you pass your checkride is thrilling! All the time spent in training was structured with goals, objectives and milestones. Then you pass and you’re out on your own. Now what?
Presenter Carl Houghton is a former sport pilot, now a private pilot with more than 500 hours, as well as an LSA owner and experimental aircraft builder. Carl’s perspective is that being a sport or private pilot doesn’t limit your flying experiences. Rather it opens the door to let you fly long cross countries if you want to, fly to places like the highest paved airport in the United States, obtain your tailwheel endorsement as part of a bush pilot class in Alaska, and build and fly your own plane.
Carl hopes to inspire folks to take their private or sport pilot certificate and use it to start having great new experiences.
Pilots of all skill levels are encouraged to attend. A BBQ lunch will follow.
