Crowdsourcing has taken on new meaning as communities work together to pool resources to claim ownership over commercial spaces and to support local businesses.  Leslie Watson is one of the leading experts for how to create a successful Community Investment Cooperative.  Join us to learn how!

Contact Gretchen Nicholls, Twin Cities LISC, at gnicholls@lisc.org or 651-265-2280 for further information.

This workshop is part of the
Community Ownership Series 2016

The shared economy offers a new framework for innovation. Community ownership offers a way to pool resources for greater economic gain for a community. This series of discussions, hosted by Cooperative Development Services, Twin Cities LISC, and CoMinnesota sets out to learn about what it takes to make these models successful.

Community ownership models include cooperatives, employee-owned firms, community land trusts, community banks, credit unions, and many other models that root control in the hands of the people who have a natural interest in the health of their communities as local ecosystems. Come learn about this growing movement, and how we can cultivate the models in your own communities.

Who should attend? People interested in community ownership opportunities, emerging cooperative enterprises, governments and funders that are interested in supporting locally-owned businesses and collaborations.
