... Did we mention it is for the children?

For the 5th Panther City Dodgeball Tournamnet, we will be using the proceeds for two different foundations linked to Education:

Presbyterian Night Shelter

1- To create a children's library at the new Presbyterian Night Shelter's women's and children's center
PNS recently opened a new facility specifically for women and their children. PNS receives many contributions from local companies, churches, and individuals, but the area our group will be focusing on is building a children’s library at the new facility. There is a common area for children’s learning, but a lack of books in the new space.

2- To help fund an intiative by Leadership ISD
Leadership ISD is committed to cultivating diverse, visionary leaders who can influence and support equity and excellence for North Texas children and families. Leadership ISD Fellows are supported to develop skill-sets that will equip them to guide and affect changes intended to produce results, from using data effectively, working collaboratively, to addressing racial, class and cultural disparities. Fellows learn these skills both during the sessions and by taking action on the ground through our campus-based initiatives. This learning process provides a deeper understanding of education reform and more importantly a deeper commitment to the students who benefit from it.

Leadership ISD is a fantastic new organization that works to train and place leaders in the community to focus on education.  As we all know, any project requires a budget to be successful, we hope that some of the proceed from the Panther City Dodgeball Tournament will assist them in their endeavors.

At the past three tournaments we were able to donate a combined $7000 to Ridglea Hills Elementary, Seminary Hills Elementary, North Hi Mount Elementary, and South Hi Mount Elementary!

North Hi Mount used our donation to purchase a new school marquee.  South Hi Mount used our donation to help fund an accelorated readers program for 1st graders.  These funds will help children who could otherwise not participate in the program for the next 3 years!  Ridglea Hills used the donated money as a booster for their Annual PTA walk-a-thon.  Seminary Hills Elementary School used the proceeds to fund two different STEM after-school clubs.

We look forward to raising money again this year to help where it really counts!  Come join in the fun!
