Making the Case for Resource Investment

For development operations of all sizes, one of the ever-present challenges to senior leadership is making the case for philanthropic investment.  Although we all face the pressures of ensuring responsible use of our organization’s dollars, under-investment in fundraising is as much, if not more of, a problem as over-investment. Join us for discussion focused on making the case for philanthropic investment. At this session, CCS’s Travis Carley and Peter Hoskow will share trends and tips for overcoming resource challenges with senior leaders and board members. We will also lead a discussion with development professionals from throughout the greater Milwaukee region on their challenges and how they tackle them.

OUR SPEAKERS:

Travis Carley, Corporate Vice President at CCS

Travis is in his thirteenth year with CCS. Throughout his career, he has provided strategic guidance to nonprofit organizations across all sectors, including: higher and secondary education, human and social service, healthcare, civic and religious institutions across the country and internationally.

Travis has had a role in the design, direction or implementation of more than 50 projects raising more than a combined $350 million. His extensive experience includes capital campaigns, feasibility and planning studies, development assessments, annual fundraising planning, training and custom learning programs, board development, major gifts and interim executive leadership.

Travis resides in Chicago, Illinois. He is a member of the Chicago Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals Board of Directors and serves on the board of Journeys Within Our Community, a non-profit organization working in Southeast Asia to improve living conditions in local communities.

Peter Hoskow, Principal and Managing Director, CCS

Peter Hoskow is in his sixteenth year with CCS and oversees the company’s Central United States operations out of Chicago. Throughout his tenure Peter has provided counsel to numerous higher education, human and social service, secondary education, healthcare, cultural, civic, and religious institutions across the country. He has been involved in the design and implementation of more than 150 projects that have raised a combined total exceeding $1.3 billion.  Peter’s extensive experience includes development strategic planning, lead and principal gift programs, capital campaign planning and management, endowment fundraising, foundation and corporate giving, grassroots fundraising strategies, board development and engagement, analytics and data utilization.  

In his role as Principal and Managing Director, Peter serves on the firm’s Board of Directors. A Wisconsin native, Peter is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee and an active Marquette alum. Peter resides with his wife Sarah and daughter Nel in Chicago.
