 RESPECT training is a free, four-day workshop focused on training participants in relationship building and conflict resolution. The skills and strategies taught at this workshop can be applied universally when addressing professional and personal conflict.

Des Moines RESPECT Training is presented by ASK Resource Center in partnership with Heartland AEA and Upper Iowa University, and is funded by the Iowa Dept. of Education and the Parent Training and Information Center grant from the U.S. Dept. of Education, #H328M140017, Project Officer, David Emenheiser.

  • Meals and training materials provided
  • Stipends: Two types of stipends are available to offset the cost of travel and other expenses associated with attending the training. $50 per day parent stipends are paid directly to you, and $100 per day educator stipends are paid directly to your district to offset substitute staff costs.
  • Education credit: Refer to the chart below for options. Detailed credit and payment information will be distributed the first day of class. 
  • License renewal credit: This type of credit is available for educators, paraeducators, and school administrators. Information regarding license renewal credit from Heartland AEA will be distributed at the training. Online payment and registration for this type of credit will not be available until the first day of class.
