Hope for Animal Hoarders Conference 

Annual conference of the Hoarding Connection of Cuyahoga County. Keynote Speaker: veterinarian and epidemiologist Gary J. Patronek, VMD, PhD, founder of the Hoarding of Animals Research Consortium. Sponsored by the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County with support from Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging. Registration at 8am. Program starts at 8:30am.

Application has been made for 6.25 continuing education credits for social workers, sanitarians, animal welfare administrators, and 3.0 CLEs for attorneys.

 LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants will:

  • Understand the nature of animal hoarding; differences and similarities of animal and material hoarding
  • Define Patronek’s model of how animal hoarders become animal hoarders
  • Understand how local communities address animal hoarding and resources available for individuals and impacted animals

ALLOHA PRECONFERENCE

ALLOHA - or the All-Ohio Hoarding Association - is a group of representatives from hoarding task forces across the state who meet periodically to discuss best practices and challenges to dealing with hoarding issues in their communities. We will hold an ALLOHA Preconference Roundtable on Thursday, April 27 from 2-5pm. To attend ALLOHA roundtable, complete box above payment on the registration form.
