11:10am-11:45am “Tribute to a Pioneer: Lorraine Wall Hurney, Esq.”
When her husband suddenly died, Lorraine Wall Hurney, while raising three children, attended law school at night at the Washington College of Law. Upon graduation, she started work as a junior administrative assistant and upon passing the bar joined the general counsel's office of the Dapartment of Immigration. She retired 29 years later as a Deputy Director of Immigration. This is an inspirping story but particularly so when you consider that Lorraine graduated from law schol in 1938. The story of this pioneer will be told by her grandson, Tom Hurney, a lawyer in Charleston, West Virginia.

The cost for the event is $149/person, which includes the sessions and lunch. The carriage ride and drinks are not included.
