The Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA) repealed the Sustainable Growth Rate (SGR) formula and intends to improve care for Medicare patients by refocusing the physician payment system from volume to value. To enact this law the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) created QPP.
