The Positive Approach to Care™ is a program designed by Teepa Snow, MS, OTR/L, FAOTA, and it focuses on the science behind brain change in all forms of dementia to help caregivers recognize the "why" behind behavioral expressions, as well as to provide tools to respond and communicate in a meaningful and supportive way. The PAC program puts an emphasis on recognizing and encouraging the abilities that a person living with dementia has retained instead of focusing on what is lost.
As a Positive Approach to Care™ Certified Trainer, Tyler Havlin will teach two hands-on care partnering techniques: Positive Physical Approach and Hand Under Hand. Participants will be able to use these skills immediately, which will enable them to shift from simply "dealing with the behaviors" to creating a positive and supportive environment.
