Therapists are called to work with children and teens dealing with traumatic experiences and loss that most adults struggle with understanding.
This day-long workshop will focus on advanced Art and Play Therapy techniques to help untangle children and teens' grief, loss, and trauma. Self-care techniques will be woven into the workshop, helping therapists handle vicarious trauma and stress.
Participants will learn through hands-on, experiential activities and will leave with various Art and Play Therapy techniques they can use immediately in their clinical practice!

About the Presenter
Marla Berger, LMHC, ATR
Marla is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Registered Art Therapist who has been working with children and adults for over fifteen years. After receiving her Bachelor's Degree from the University of Florida and her Master's Degree in Art Therapy from the University of Louisville, she began to specialize in working with children and their families. Marla has a wide array of experience providing art therapy services to children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. She has an ability to make art therapy accessible to many populations, including substance abuse, psychiatric in-patient, and grieving populations.
Marla is also dedicated to providing trainings to therapists, parents, and lay people. She has provided dozens of trainings on grief and loss, art therapy, and equine assisted psychotherapy/learning. Marla has a wealth of knowledge and enjoys a hands-on, interactive approach to trainings! Therapists leave with techniques they can immediately implement with children in sessions.
Workshop Fees:
Early registration: $125 for individual and $1,200 for a group of 10. Ends 5/26/2017. After the early registration period: $150 or $155 with State of Florida CEUs. $1,350 for Groups of 10. APT Credits included.
