Understanding the Fundamentals of Business Financial Statements   

Math Friendly? YES!  

Financial statements are the music of business.  You don’t need to know how to compose them, but you do need to know how to read them.  You’ll learn how to read and interpret the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement and a Break Even Analysis report.  In this workshop, designed for people with absolutely no background in accounting our finance, our expert financial advisor John Spruill will walk you through the basics of these business essentials, step-by-step.  If you can do simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on a calculator you’ll be good to go!

John Spruill, CFP®, Financial Advisor: Upon graduating from Florida State University, John served five years active duty in the United States Air Force. Immediately after his military service, John began his wealth advisory career with First Command Financial Planning. In 2006, John moved his practice to Smith Barney in Santa Barbara, CA. Thereafter, he joined his current partners, Bruce Micheel and Marc Gamberdella. Seeking a firm which would allow them to provide clients the highest level of advice and service, John and his team came to Merrill Lynch in April, 2009. John is a CFP®, awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. In August 2009, John received his MBA in Financial Planning from California Lutheran University. He holds Series 6, 7, 26, 63, and 65 Licenses, along with Life Insurance and Annuity Licenses.
