Stewards of Children

Learn how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. We want you to become confident and competent, knowing how to prevent sexual abuse and react skillfully if it occurs.

Stewards of Children is taken by parents or caregivers and is also used to train staff and volunteers who work with children at schools, daycares, faith centers, recreation departments, and other youth serving organizations. The program provides simple and effective practices to prevent, recognize, and react to abuse.

Objectives for Stewards of Children training:

  1. Participants will receive a mix of survivor stories, expert advice, and practical guidance for preventing child sexual abuse.
  2. Learn about making choices, taking risks, and supporting each other.
  3. Get simple strategies to prevent and respond to sexual abuse through Darkness to Light’s 5 Steps to Protecting Our Children.

Cost: Free

Training is limited to 30 participants
