How to Start a Business - Step by Step
Take the guesswork out of starting a business. This workshop provides an overview of all the essentials: what it takes to be an entrepreneur; entity choices; legal considerations; licensing; insurance; creating a business plan; creating a marketing plan; understanding financial statements and funding; assembling your team.
These topics are covered in detail in subsequent workshops, but this workshop provides an overview so that the attendees can decide which topics they want to explore in more detail. Also the workshop will help people make decisions about proceeding with their business idea and making them more comfortable with the uncertainty and worry of taking that step.

The Presenter: Irene Flack & Ray Snipes
Irene Flack worked for many years in commercial lending for a community bank, including SBA and other small business lending. She helped structure loans and lines of credit for business owners, reviewing financial statements, leases, insurance, and various other documents in the process. She is currently a business attorney working with small business owners on everything from entity formation to selling the business.
For most of his career Ray Snipes worked in a variety of management positions with two large companies in the automotive aftermarket. He owned and managed asmall business for several years and also taught high school English. Both Irene and Ray are mentors with North Coast Score.
