Converting Prospects

“Everything Starts with a Sale"

Arrive at 5:30 PM, sign-in, check out the view as you network with other entrepreneurs and SCORE Volunteers.  Get a good seat for the program that begins promptly at 6:00 PM.  This workshop is sponsored by Manasota SCORE and Fifth Third Bank.

This workshop is a basic training program on Sales.  It will reacquaint experienced sales people with the many elements of a selling process and will teach new sales people the skills needed to find prospects and turn them into customers.   You will learn that the sales method needed will vary depending upon the complexity and cost of the product or service being sold.  You will be shown the various steps of a sale and then taught the needed skills to make you a professional sales person.

This instructional workshop will address the following topics and much more!

  • What is the difference between Marketing and Sales?
  • What is the role of Sales in the Marketing Mix?
  • What are the six steps of a sale?
  • Are all methods of selling the same?
  • What is on-line selling?
  • Is there a “Selling Language” that I should use?
  • What’s the best way to sell an ashtray?
  • How does body language help the selling process?
  • Do I need a referral program?
  • What’s my Social Prospecting Pitch?
  • How do I develop a Sales Promotional Plan?

Once you have successfully completed this session, you will be prepared to initiate a Sales Plan for your business to create prospects which can be converted to sales and profits.  You will understand the importance of each step of the selling process and will have learned the skills necessary to turn a prospect into a customer!

About Speaker Rick Ross:

Rick had a very successful career with General Motors working in Sales and Marketing.  He worked at many sales offices throughout the country responsible for the dealer development, product distribution & sales and customer relations.  He also worked at divisional headquarters in various marketing positions including National Sales Promotion Manager, Director of Advertising and Director of Marketing.   He ended his career at GM Corporate office responsible for several staffs in the Corporate Sales Office.

About Speaker Jory Berkwits:

Jory earned degrees at Columbia University and the University of Washington, and after a short stint in the publishing industry, began what was to become a highly successful forty year career in financial services with Merrill Lynch in New England. During that time he successfully managed a number of different retail branch offices and also ran one of the firm’s most productive high net worth advisor teams. Focusing directly on business development and the sales process, he became a SCORE mentor to help its clients achieve their revenue goals.
