Sooner or later, every successful business reaches the point where the owner/founder simply cannot do everything by himself/herself. A business must expand if it is to grow. Certain tasks must be delegated or downloaded to others. But which tasks? To whom? How can you be sure your product or service quality won’t suffer?
- understand the difference between working “in” and working “on” your business;
- decide what tasks should NOT be delegated to others;
- decide what new tasks you will do to grow the business once you have the extra time to do them
- identify the three types of people you can delegate to (there are only three)
- motivate the people you delegate to; and
- stay on top of the work you delegate to others (or how to “trust, but verify”).
