IFMA San Diego Tour of San Diego International Airport (SAN)

Join IFMA for a tour of San Diego International Ariport focused on the environmental travel-plane-header.jpg aspects of SAN’s operations. The tour will highlight the Airport’s waste, water, energy management, storm water compliance, and innovative projects. Participants will learn about the business case for the Airport’s environmental programs and visit the airside (the runway and ramp area), the onsite Central Utility Plant, solar installations, and storm water infrastructure.

Meeting Point: The Innovation Lab, 1st Floor of Commuter Terminal

Parking: Validated parking is available for guests in the parking lot in front of Commuter Terminal located off Winship Lane.

Biographies of Presenters and Tour Guides:

Rick Belliotti is the Director of Innovation and Small Business Development (IT Services Department) at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. He is an experienced manager and entrepreneur who has worked in organizations of all sizes.  His experience extends from software development to business development, to inspirational leadership of staff.   Rick is very active in the Aviation industry, supporting and participating in initiatives from International Air Transport Association (IATA), and Airports Council International (ACI).  Rick serves on several key management groups and committees, and participated in the creation of standards and policies, as well as conducting research for the industry.  He is particularly passionate about opening the aviation industry up to new businesses, providing opportunity for small business participation, and finding innovation to enhance customer experience, revenue, or cost reduction.  The key focus of his career is to make the aviation industry better for the passenger by improving how innovation is used to meet their needs, the needs of the industry, and to drive revenue growth through adding value to the experience at airports.

Brendan Reed is the Director of Planning & Environmental Affairs for the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority, which owns and operates the San Diego International Airport.  In this role, he leads a team of over 25 professionals in guiding the organization’s policies concerning airport master planning, land use compatibility planning, corporate sustainability, and environmental compliance.  Prior to the Airport Authority, Brendan worked for over 15 years coordinating natural resource restoration projects and managing community environmental initiatives.  Mr. Reed received a Master of Science in Ecology from San Diego State University and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Richmond.  His professional certifications include being a LEED

Accredited Professional (US Green Building Council) and a Certified Energy Manager (Association of Energy Engineers).  

David LaGuardia is the Director of Facilities Management at the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority.  He oversees the department responsible for maintaining airport infrastructure and responding to Airport and tenant service requests. The department also plans and executes the Major Maintenance Program and assists Facilities Development in the execution of CIPs. Prior to the Airport Authority, David worked in various roles in Facilities Management and Facilities Design and Construction at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He also has experience working for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).

San Diego Chapter Members - complimentary (Membership will be verified) 
First Time FM Attendee - complimentary (Previous meeting attendance will be verified)
Non Members - $15 per person
Biocom Members - first 5 complimentary

Cancellations: Due to space limitations, cancellations MUST be received a minimum of 24 hours in advance of the event to receive a full refund.  Those making a reservation, but not attending the event/meeting (“No shows”) will be charged a $15 No-Show fee. 

Please note:
  • Only IFMA San Diego Chapter Members may register on a complimentary basis.  Colleagues of chapter members (unless they are a FM and this is their first chapter meeting) must register as a non member and will be charged the non member fee.
  • If a IFMA San Diego member registers a guest and that guest does not attend, the member will be charged the $15 No-show fee for their guest.
  • Because of venue and planning requirements, no registrations will be taken after the deadline. Walkins may be accessed a $30 late registration fee.
