Home-Based Businesses:  Learn the rules for starting a successful enterprise from your home -- This Northwest Indiana SCORE workshop is designed for current and prospective business owners, especially those who are looking to launch a home-based business.  This one-hour information-packed workshop will focus on how to take advantage of Indiana laws and regulations that apply specifically to home-based businesses.

Many successful small businesses start off initially in someone's home (or even garage)!  With our booming economy, 2018 might be one of the best times to get a new business venture started.  Valparaiso SCORE Mentor Bill Herring will walk attendees through the information and tools needed to create a solid foundation when starting any business.  He will point out common pitfalls entrepreneurs should avoid and list valuable resources they can access at every stage in the life of their business.

* Protect your concepts and intellectual property
* Know your competition
* Build your supplier and distribution networks
* Understand your real costs
* Seek honest feedback and learn how/when to adjust your plans

This workshop will be held on January 31st, 2018 at 9:00 am at the Valparaiso Chamber of Commerce.  There is no charge for this workshop and attendees will receive a copy of the slide presentation.
