Carolyn S. Watkins is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She is a graduate of Jackson State University, Jackson Mississippi and Loyola University School of Law, New Orleans, Louisiana.

 Her civic and public service contributions span some 20 plus years as an attorney and concerned citizen.  Some of her contributions include the Administrator of Shelby County Office of Equal Opportunity Compliance, Assistant Shelby County Public Defender, Adjunct Professor and Instructor at the University of Memphis and Lemoyne-Owens College, and Chairman of the Board for Friendship Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee and Graduate of Leadership Memphis. She has received numerous citations and awards for community service and for excellence in practice of Law.
