Dear Precious mom ... We want to welcome you with open arms and hearts.  Come for a weekend that will uplift you physically, mentally and spiritually through messages of love, special music, “Celebrating our Children” candle lighting program and beautiful dove release. We are looking forward to our journey together.  May it be a journey you will fondly remember, one that is filled with FAITH, HOPE and HEALING.

 Weekend Schedule

Music Guest Artist & Speaker: Joe Knight

Joe is the Music Pastor at Family Fellowship Church in Greenville, Texas.  As his son Matt lay dying in the hospital from cancer Joe was faced with the same options that everyone facing the loss of a loved one faces: give up, give in, or give praise. With a broken and grieving heart, Joe Knight gave praise.

Guest Speaker: Julie Schrock

Julie motivates others by expounding on God’s grace during the painful tragedy of losing her Marine son Max. She shares miraculous events that showed her she was not alone on her journey. She wrote the book “Still Missing Max” that is filled with hope and encouragement.

Love and Healing in Your Marriage

Daisy Catchings-Shader

We'll be looking at God’s design for marriage, and ways of restoring God’s design. We will look at the importance of making your marriage the primary focus of your love and explore some practical implications of that. We will examine what it means to be united and consider ways to build greater intimacy, humor, commitment, contentment and joy in your relationship.  Marriage is a wonderful thing, join us to see how to make it happen.

Coping With the Aftermath of Deaths by Suicide or Drug Overdose

 Intentional Women

Dawn Macchiavello

At some point in our grief journey, all of us moms will feel a tug from the Lord to step forward into the plans and purposes that He has for us.  We start to experience some relief from the overwhelming pain of our loss and we begin to wonder how we will move forward in our life with meaning and purpose.  God has some encouragement for you in this workshop.  We will look at what it means to be intentional in our life's purpose as well as our grief.  We will leave with practical steps and tips for moving forward in our journey.

God Calling? Learn the simplicity of leading a mom’s group.

Linda Stirling

“I’m not a leader … but I feel the Lord nudging me to start a group.”  Find out how and why God calls us when we feel inadequate and unprepared.  In this leadership workshop you will be given a simple outline of how to organize a new group.  Meeting ideas, discussion procedures, and tips on how to build a team to make the process less burdensome.

The First Five Years (after loss)

Diane Eisendrath

This workshop is about how one mom, Diane, by embracing the help provided and suggested by Umbrella Ministries, proactively grieved during the first five years after losing her precious son John to colon cancer.  If you are in your first five years after the loss of your child and want to know "What do I do now?"  Come hear one mom’s story of what she did. Take the first step in your grief journey and attend this workshop and receive information to help you take your next. If your loss has been longer than five years, but you have put your grief on hold, this workshop is calling your name. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways submit to Him, and He will direct your path.”  Proverbs 3:5-6

Grief and your Brain

Dr. Mickey Stonier

Dr. Stonier currently serves as pastor and community chaplain with a number of police and fire department agencies in San Diego.  He is the author of the book GODISNOWHERE - where is God in the midst of your pain.

In this experiential and interactive workshop, Dr. Stonier will be discussing the natural triggers that develop during significant loss.  There are many interrelated reactions that are developed in a dynamic way that affects us mentally, physiologically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.  This workshop will provide instruction in how to identify these experiences and how to manage and grow within them.  Healing and growth is a lifelong journey, and having a solid roadmap through the many twists and turns of our thoughts and emotions assists families in their navigation through reoccurring storms.

Trauma in the Family - Caring for Children During Loss

Madi Stonier

Madi will be discussing the needs of children who are in a family experiencing great loss.  It can be a difficult task for parents to walk through their own grief while taking care of other children in the home.  Madi will give basic techniques to ensure that children will be guided in a healthy grief process for themselves as well - whether it is answering children’s many questions in a developmentally appropriate way to proactively guiding them in their own healing.
