Join hundreds of fellow advocates, families, and colleagues in Annapolis to make your voice heard!

Developmental Disabilities Day at the Legislature is an opportunity to advance our grassroots movement for people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD).

Every day, tens of thousands of Marylanders with I/DD are impacted by the public policy decisions of Legislature–  the amount of funding available for DD services and the Waiting Lists, civil rights issues like housing and transportation accessibility and the right to be free from unnecessary restraint and seclusion, the availability of free and appropriate public education in the least restrictive environment, and the protection of our waivers, are just some of the current issues affecting those with I/DD.

At DD Day, you will receive briefings on some of the more critical topics in disability policy this session, then you'll go to the House and Senate Office buildings to meet with your elected officials and their staff to share information, your experiences and tell your story.

DD Day is a very popular event and we sell out every year!  Registration will close on February 17th or sooner if we reach capacity prior to that date. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa King at lking@thearcmd.org or call (410) 571-9320. ASL Interpretation will be provided. Accessible changing room will be available upon request.

Registration:
$19 for self-advocates, Direct Support Professionals, and family members, and
$25 per person for all others (organizational employees (except DSPs) and volunteers, professional staff, and government employees)

Please note:  you must schedule your own appointments with your legislators. This is your opportunity to educate legislators about the important issues facing children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Please schedule your appointments as soon as possible as we are not the only group advocacy event/meeting in Annapolis on this date, and legislators' schedules will likely fill up.
You must bring a valid state issued ID to enter the Legislative Buildings.
