Overview: Would you like to do business with Federal & local governments, public agencies, national laboratories and the University of California campuses? The U.S. Federal Government is the largest buyer of goods and services in the world. Regardless of your level of familiarity with the federal procurement process, there is something for you in this special workshop on how you can increase your knowledge of federal purchasing and how to market more effectively to the government and other public agencies.

 Topics include:

  • basic government contracting rules and practices
  • the key steps necessary to qualifying your company to do business with the government
  • how to do business and find contracting opportunities at local governments, public agencies, federal agencies especially Department of Energy and its national laboratories, and the University of California campuses
  • how to improve your marketing technique by creating a dynamic Capability Statement
  • learn how existing government programs (SBA, GSA, etc.) can help you jumpstart your business with the government

Hanh has more than 25 years of professional experience in Government Contracting, Supplier Diversity, Small Business, and Sustainable Acquisition programs. Most recently, Hanh managed the award winning small business program at the Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. Prior to working for Lawrence Berkeley, Hanh led various initiatives at the Lawrence Livermore National Lab, Sandia National Lab, and Honeywell Corporation. Hanh has received many awards for her passion and contribution to the success of the Small Business community, including the prestigious 2014 Supplier Diversity Champion Award by the Minority Business Development Agency. Ms. Kent received her B.A degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis and a MBA from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri.
