This webinar will provide tools and techniques for improving how highways are designed and operated to increase safety. The focus is on all road users and how they can safely interact with the highway infrastructure when their needs and limitations are incorporated into design and operations.

This training is directed towards a very broad safety audience including, but not limited to, law enforcement, planners, highway designers, engineers, first responders, elected officials, public health, tourism agencies, and safety culture experts. Participants should have some basic familiarity with transportation safety.

John Campbell, Research Leader, Center for Human Performance and Safety, Battelle
John L. Campbell is a Research Leader at the Battelle Memorial Institute, responsible for leading programs and conducting research in the area of transportation human factors and driver safety. He leads Battelle’s Center for Human Performance and Safety (CHPS) in Seattle WA., a team of behavioral scientists and engineers that provide a human-centered approach to the development and evaluation of transportation programs, products, and systems. Dr. Campbell has conducted numerous research studies involving driver behavior, vehicle safety, and driver assistance systems, using on-the-road vehicles, driving simulators, and test tracks.To register for the webinar, please click on the button below.
