Sustainable Forestry Initiative

This program, worth 1 AIA LU | HSW, will include an overview of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative program, SFI. The presentation will detail the history, membership and qualifications surrounding the SFI standards and what it means to have that certification.

Learning Objectives Include: 

1. Learn who is the SFI as well as the history of Sustainable Forestry Initiative.
2. Review the SFI principals, objectives, performance measures and indicators.
3. Explain the importance of Forestry Certification.
4. Understand how growing our forests in a sustainable manner contributes to Green Building and sequesters carbon reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
