Safety & Security

Come join us for this FREE event sponsored by Manasota SCORE, Manatee County Public Library Information Services and Manatee County Economic Development Division.  Refreshments provided by the Friends of the Central Library.

Whether you have a bustling storefront or an online-only enterprise, the ongoing safety and security of your data, customers, inventory, and employees should be one of your top priorities. Deputy Russell Younger, an eighteen-year veteran of the Manatee Sheriff's Office, will share strategies to keep your staff and customers safe in cases of workplace violence and active shooters. Bruno Kapacinskas, the Business Resource Manager for Manatee County Redevelopment and Economic Opportunity, will also present on Business Disaster Recovery planning for situations like fires, floods, and other unexpected calamities. With Hurricane Irma fresh on your mind, now is the time to prepare your business for the next natural disaster. We all hope that these situations won’t happen to us, but it is always better to be safe, rather than sorry.

Prior to becoming a deputy, Deputy Younger served for 20 years in the United States Marine Corps and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was born in Sarasota, and is married with two beautiful daughters.
