AIA East Kentucky Project Tour-New UK Baseball Facility 

AIA East KY is pleased to offer its members an opportunity for continuing education (1.5 AIA LU) in conjunction with a construction tour of the new University of Kentucky Baseball Facility!

This program will showcase spaces to be utilized for the daily routines of the University of Kentucky baseball players, including team meeting room, the team locker room, and training and support spaces. We will also take an inside look into the various fan amenities and game day operation spaces. This project was designed to achieve LEED Silver.

Learning objectives:

1. The tour will explain and illustrate the specialized requirements for the design and construction of a baseball stadium and training/recruiting facility.
2. Attendees will observe various spaces in multiple phases of completion: both finished and unfinished.
3. The presenters will explain the challenges of constructing a large, multi-story building and baseball field on a constrained site.
4. Attendees will learn about the dynamic relationship between a national sports design firm and local architect, and the evolving requirements of the owner in a rapidly-changing recruiting environment.
