Please join us for coffee and conversation at our newly rebranded Breakfast and Learn - Morning Mingle on Tuesday, June 12, 2018. Each attendee will have an opportunity to network and hear from our guest speaker, Alan Byrd. Alan is the President and Founder of Alan Byrd & Associates.

This month's program will focus on the "Big Fish and the Minor Leagues: Catching the Client of your Dreams.”

We look forward to seeing each of you there!

About Alan Byrd

For over 20 years, Alan Byrd has been a part of the Central Florida community. In March 2009, he founded Alan Byrd & Associates, a boutique consulting firm focused on connecting small and medium sized businesses with marketing strategies, public relations, business development and external affairs.

Previously, Byrd was the vice president of sales, marketing and public relations for McCree Inc., one of Central Florida's largest architecture and construction firms. In that role, Byrd oversaw all company efforts in those areas.

Prior to joining McCree, Byrd was the director of circulation sales and marketing for Orlando Business Journal, where he oversaw the weekly publication's growth in readership and presence in the community. He joined OBJ as an intern in 1993 while at the University of Central Florida, where he graduated with a degree in journalism. He was also an award-winning reporter for eight years at the newspaper, winning dozens of local, state, regional and national awards for his coverage of Central Florida's tourism, sports and transportation industries. In 1998, his reporting of the Moscow Circus was named as the best business story in the United States by the Society of Business Editors and Writers.

Byrd holds many community leadership positions throughout Central Florida and serves on more than a dozen boards, including the Apopka Area Chamber of Commerce where he has served as a past chairman.

Byrd is particularly proud of his fundraising for charities. In 2005, he started an annual deep sea fishing trip, which raised nearly $12,000 to be used for a Women and Children's shelter for the Salvation Army and $16,000 for the Valencia Community College Foundation. He also chaired the Coastal Conservation Association's annual Orlando banquet, which net nearly $95,000 to help preserve marine resources throughout the state.

In his spare time, Byrd plays guitar and sings with the Barefoot Underground for various charities in Central Florida. He is the author of "Florida Spring Training, Your Guide to the Grapefruit League," a nationally published guidebook to touring Florida.
