Matthew Krieger is a technologist and executive with experience in Information Technology, manufacturing, publishing and fundraising. Matt is an Advisory Chief Technology Officer for non-profits and VP of Technology with manufacturer Cober, Inc.  Previously Matt held senior IT leadership positions at Time, Inc. and The Reader’s Digest Association. Matt serves on the board of two non-profit organizations and is a business mentor with SCORE.

Lessons Learned from Running a Business: Mini Case Studies 

A Free SCORE Small Business Workshop co-Sponsored by The Wilton Library, the Wilton Chamber of Commerce and the Wilton Bulletin  


This workshop shares a set of lessons learned during the daily operations of a business. Spanning Sales, Operations, Finance, HR and more, each scenario is presented in a problem-faced/lesson learned format and each is no more than a few minutes long. The lessons presented apply to businesses of all types.

Examples of challenges and lessons learned:

  • Financial: How to collect payments more quickly
  • Marketing: Grow your brand by establishing your business as a trusted expert
  • Sales: Recognize the value of your existing customer base
  • HR: Company culture is bigger than the individual
  • Customer Support: Customer service is a relationship builder
  • IT: Using off-the-shelf software as a way to implement a business process
