Portuguese-American Bar Association Launch at the PALCUS Lusitanian Forum

PALCUS is pleased to sponsor the launch of the Portuguese- American Bar Association (PABA) at its Lusitanian Forum during the 22nd Leadershp Awards Gala Weekend on October 6, 2018 at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center, Washington, D.C.

The creation of PABA was proposed by Chief Justice Philip Rapoza (MA Appeals Court - Ret.) at the PALCUS Inaugural Portuguese-American National Conference last June. The newly formed organization aims to support Portuguese-Americans in the legal profession and those they serve.

Since June, a steering committee has been meeting to draft a mission statement, goals, objectives and action items to present to all interested parties for public comment. The forum offers the opportunity for discussion and feedback as the course is charted for this first nationwide legal organization in support of Portuguese-Americans.

Portuguese-Americans who practice in the legal profession and allied fields are especially encouraged to attend. The forum is free and open to the public although registration is required no later than Friday, September 28, 2018.
