This class will cover practical, financial and tax issues related to selling and buying a business. It will include strategies and proven practices that lead to maximizing entity value before a sale. The class will emphasize the process of preparing a business for sale including valuation, marketing, structuring the deal, financing, negotiating and closing a successful transaction. This workshop is equally applicable to buyers and sellers.

The class will be conducted in power point presentation format with supporting handout materials, including presentation outline and illustrations. Group discussion and questions are encouraged. Although not required, the book 11 Things You Need To Know About Selling Your Business by John F. Dini, is recommended background material and may be purchased on Amazon for $15.

This workshop is presented by Mike Beres, an exit planning consultant and SCORE Mentor. Mike previously served as CFO for several companies and was a practicing CPA for 30 years. In the role of consultant, CFO and CPA, he has actively participated in many business sales transactions, and assisted buyers, sellers, and corporate acquisition teams from small to large closely held businesses.
