Pray without Ceasing: 
The Spiritual Battle for Relevance in Faith Formation & Youth Ministry

This is the first of three in the Hebrews 10:25 series of professional development days for RE/YM Leaders for the 2018-19 academic year.  Pray and network with your peers, hear about innovative ways to accompany the families in your program and be inspired as we begin the new academic year! 

"Brew Time"will start at 9am. It's a time to socialize over coffee (we're adding tea this year!) with your peers in ministry and review and collect free resources. Programming begins at 9:30.

Rather than round table topics this time, we'll stay together in large group for the most part.  Here's our tentative schedule for the day:

9:00 Brew Time
9:30 Welcome, Introductions, Prayer
9:45 How (& Why) the Education Dept. is now Families & Schools of Discipleship
10:05 Presentation:  "Prayer w/out Faith is Just Wishful Thinking" (Dr. Peter Murphy) followed by Q&A
11:00 Break
11:15 Presentation: "How Teaching Prayer to 'Littles' and Teens is Surprisingly Similar!"  (Jane Schueller) followed by Q&A
Noon  Lunch  You favor the pizza/salad bar for lunch, so that's what we'll have.  Cookies, of course!
12:30 (Optional listening session on the Abuse Scandal in the Church Today)
1:00 Recognition & Celebration of Pam Fischer's certification as a Parish Catechetical Leader through the Alliance for the Certification of Lay Ecclesial Ministers/NCCL 
1:15 Presentation: "Best Practice: Inviting Parents through Coffee and Prayer" (Kym Allex)
2:00 "Pray without Ceasing: Shared Prayer"
2:45 Closing Prayer/Continued Shared Prayer
